Crock Pot Chicken and Mushroom Stroganoff

Crock Pot Chicken and Mushroom Stroganoff: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

My kids called this a "knock off tuna noodle". They said it tasted like tuna noodle, but instead of tuna fish it has chicken. I can't say there are completely wrong, it is reminiscent of tuna noodle.

Crock Pot Chicken and Mushroom Stroganoff: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Although my kids said they would have rather had "real" tuna noodle than this, they did say it was good. I loved how easy it was to make. You basically throw everything in the crock pot, except the noodles and let it do its thing.

Crock Pot Chicken and Mushroom Stroganoff

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 ounces baby bella mushrooms, sliced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1- 10.5 ounce can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 1/4 ounce envelope dry onion soup mix
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 8 ounces wide egg noodles

Directions:

  1. Lightly spray a crock pot with cooking spray.
  2. Place the chicken into the crock pot, followed by the mushrooms.
  3. In a medium bowl, add in the cream cheese, cream of chicken soup and dry onion soup mix. Stir until well combined. Spread this mixture over top of the chicken and mushrooms.
  4. Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 3 hours.
  5. Just before serving, cook the noodles according to the package directions and drain well. Stir the noodles into the crock pot and serve.
Enjoy!!!
