Frozen ravioli is mixed with 3 different cheeses, topped with an Italian sausage spaghetti sauce and topped with even more cheese and then baked to perfection.
This casserole is not difficult to prepare, it only takes about 15 minutes and you do not even have to thaw the ravioli. However, if desired, you can prepare the casserole the night before, refrigerate and then bake the next day. It just might take an extra few minutes if you bake it straight from the refrigerator. For a little spiciness, use hot Italian sausage.
Cheesy Ravioli Casserole
Ingredients:
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 28 ounces spaghetti sauce
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/3 cup shredded parmesan cheese
- 25 ounces frozen cheese ravioli
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350º F. Spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, cook and crumble the Italian sausage. Once the sausage is completely cooked, drain any fat from the skillet. Stir in the spaghetti sauce and set aside.
- In a large bowl, stir together the cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, parmesan cheese, parsley and garlic powder. Add in the frozen ravioli and gently toss to coat.
- Transfer the ravioli into the prepared baking dish and spread it out.
- Pour the meat sauce over the ravioli and sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese.
- Bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Enjoy!!!
