Meat Lover's Pizza Casserole

A pizza casserole that is loaded with three different kinds of meat. It also still includes the pizza crust, but instead of the pizza crust being on the bottom, it is on the top creating a delicious topping for this casserole.

Meat Lover's Pizza Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 cup mini pepperoni
  • 4 teaspoons Italian seasoning, divided
  • 26 ounces pizza sauce
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425º F. Lightly spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, cook the ground turkey and sausage until completely cooked and crumbled. Drain any grease if needed.
  3. Add in the pepperoni and 3 teaspoons Italian seasoning and stir until well blended.
  4. Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle about 3/4 of the cheese over top of the meat.
  5. Roll the pizza dough out into a 9x13 inch rectangle and place on top of the cheese. Brush the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with the 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning and the remaining mozzarella cheese and the parmesan cheese,
  6. Bake of 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
Enjoy!!!

Notes:
I used my homemade pizza dough and cut the recipe in half for this casserole, which is about 1 pound. You can always use a 13.8 ounces can of pizza dough instead of homemade.
