Pizza Dough

Pizza Dough: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

I have made plenty of homemade pizza doughs over the years but have never found "the one". That is until now.

Pizza Dough: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

This dough is easy to work with and makes a great pizza crust.

Pizza Dough: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Pizza Dough

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups warm water (about 120º F)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 6 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
  1. In a glass measuring cup, stir together the water, yeast and sugar.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer with the dough hook attached, add in the flour, oil and salt.
  3. Pour the water mixture over top and knead until a soft dough forms and is slightly tacky when touched, but does not stick to your fingers.
  4. Remove the dough from the bowl and place on a lightly floured surface.
  5. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions and roll into balls.
  6. Place the dough balls on a greased baking sheet and cover with a damp towel.
  7. If using the dough the same day allow to rise at room temperature for 2-3 hours. If using the dough the next day, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and allow to rise until ready to use the next day.
  8. Preheat oven to 425º F.
  9. When the dough is ready, flatten or press it out into about a 14 inch circle.
  10. Place the dough on a lightly greased pizza pan or a pizza peel with cornmeal.
  11. Add desired sauce and toppings.
  12. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until the cheese is melted and crust is browned to your liking.
Enjoy!!!
