I was craving some totchos the other day, but did not want to go to the store to get ingredients, so I decided to use what I had on hand. I will admit it was not quite as good as the original, but it made do in a pinch.
Instead of chorizo I used spicy Italian sausage, which worked just fine. I used jarred salsa, instead of the fresh one and did not have tomatoes or green onions to topped it with. I definitely, without a doubt like the homemade salsa so much better and not having the fresh tomatoes and green onions on top made a huge difference. So I think even with my make do recipe, I need to make it again, but the correct way.
