This pasta dish is easy to prepare and comes together quickly making it perfect for those busy weeknights. Plus it is creamy, cheesy and just plain delicious.
Cheesy Salsa Verde Taco Pasta
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds shell pasta
- 8 ounces ground turkey
- 1/2 large yellow onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 2/3 cup water
- 12 ounces salsa verde
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- sour cream
Directions:
- Cook the pasta according to the package directions and drain well.
- In a large skillet add the ground turkey, onions and garlic. Season with black pepper.
- Cook and crumble over medium-high heat until the turkey is completely cooked. Drain any grease.
- Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the meat and add the water. Stir to mix.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, until all of the water has been absorbed.
- Add in the salsa verde and stir to mix. If the mixture is too runny, cook stirring often, until some of the liquid as evaporated.
- Add in the shredded cheese and stir until the cheese has completely melted.
- Top individual servings with sour cream.
Notes:
4 tablespoons is equivalent to 2 packages of taco seasoning.
