Mmm, all the deliciousness of a cinnamon roll without all of the work. These waffles tasted just like a cinnamon roll. A prefect buttermilk waffle with a crispy outside and light on the inside is topped with the cinnamon filling and cream cheese frosting of a cinnamon roll.
Cinnamon Roll Waffles
Ingredients:
Buttermilk Waffles
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cream Cheese Topping
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Cinnamon Topping
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
Buttermilk Waffles
- Preheat waffle iron.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and baking soda.
- Add in the eggs, buttermilk, oil and vanilla. Whisk just until combined.
- Pour the batter into waffle iron and cook according to manufacturers' directions.
Cream Cheese Topping
- In a microwave safe bowl, heat the butter and cream cheese for 30 seconds, stir. if not completely melted and mixed heat for 30 more seconds and stir until well combined.
- Whisk in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
- Drizzle over the waffles.
Cinnamon Topping
- In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir until well mixed.
- Drizzle over waffles.

I used a Belgium waffle maker and got 5 waffles.
