Chili Macaroni and Cheese

Chili Macaroni and Cheese: Savory Sweet and Satisfyng

What happens when you combine chili and macaroni and cheese? You get a yummy and comforting dish, that's sure to warm you up.


Chili Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1- 15 ounce can fire roasted diced tomatoes
  • 1- 15 ounce can low sodium kidney beans
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3 cups low sodium chicken broth
  • 16 ounces shell pasta
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
Directions:
  1. In a large pot heat the oil over medium heat.
  2. Add in the onion and cook until softened. Add in the garlic and stir for 1 minute.
  3. Add in the ground turkey and cook until completely cooked. Drain any fat.
  4. Add in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, cayenne, chicken broth and pasta.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer and simmer for 14-15 minutes or until the pasta is cooked.
  6. Remove the pot from the heat and add the cheese, stirring until completely melted.
