Sausage, Ricotta, Pepperoni Pizza

Sausage, Ricotta, Pepperoni Pizza: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Sausage and pepperoni pizza is nothing new, but the addition of the ricotta adds another cheese flavor and creaminess to an already delicious pizza.

Sausage, Ricotta, Pepperoni Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 8 ounces sweet Italian sausage (about 3 links), casings removed
  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450ºF (or whatever temperature your dough calls for). Lightly coat a baking sheet or pizza pan with 2 tablespoon olive oil, if you are using a pizza stone skip this step.
  2. Heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add in the Italian sausage and cook until browned, crumbling it as it cooks. Drain and excess fat and set aside.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough into approximately a 13 inch circle. Transfer to prepared baking sheet or pizza pan if using. Spread the pizza sauce on the dough to about 1/2 inch from the edge. Sprinkle with the shredded mozzarella. Then top with the sausage, pepperoni and dollops of ricotta cheese.
  4. Bake for 12-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheeses have melted.
Enjoy!!!
