Cheeseburger Lasagna

Cheeseburger Lasagna: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

A delicious lasagna that incorporates the flavor of a cheeseburger. The best part is that this lasagna is put together the night before and refrigerated. Then all you have to do the next day is bake the lasagna and prepare the toppings. Perfect for those busy days when you do not have a lot of time to be in the kitchen cooking.

Cheeseburger Lasagna

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
  • 3 tablespoons dried minced onions
  • 15 ounces low sodium tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 egg
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 12-15 lasagna noodles, uncooked
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • dill pickle slices

Directions:

  1. Spray a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, cook the ground turkey and dried onions until the turkey is completely cooked, stirring often. Add in the tomato sauce, water, ketchup and mustard and mix well. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. In the meantime, beat the egg in a medium bowl. Add in the ricotta cheese and 2 cups shredded cheese and mix well.
  4. In the prepared baking dish spread 1 cup of the turkey mixture on the bottom. Place 4-5 lasagna on top of the sauce covering the bottom of the baking dish. Spoon half of the ricotta mixture over top of the noodles and spread into an even layer. Spread 1 1/2 cups of the turkey mixture on top of the ricotta mixture and top with 4-5 lasagna noodles. Place the remaining ricotta mixture on top and spread into an even layer. Spread 1 1/2 cups of turkey mixture on top of the ricotta mixture and then place the remaining 4-5 lasagna noodles on top. Spread the remaining turkey mixture on top of the noodles and then sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight or at least 8 hours.
  5. When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350º F. Bake the lasagna, covered, for 45 minutes. Uncover the baking dish and bake for an additional 25-35 minutes or until bubbly. Remove the baking dish from the oven and cover with foil. Let sit for 5-10 minutes, covered before serving.
  6. Top each serving with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and dill pickle slices.
Enjoy!!!
