Loaded Cheesy Fries with Ranch Sauce

Loaded Cheesy Fries with Ranch Sauce: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

These loaded cheese fries are almost completely homemade. The fries are cut from russet potatoes, with the skins left on. The cheese sauce is not processed at all. They are no bacon bits, just real turkey bacon. The only part that was not completely homemade was the ranch dressing. But of course you could make the ranch dressing yourself, that is just not something I have done yet. I have made a Homemade Ranch Seasoning, but just not turned it into ranch dressing.

Loaded Cheesy Fries with Ranch Sauce: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

I made these loaded cheese fries to go with some burgers and when dinner was over the plate was completely empty. Everyone agreed that these fries were absolutely delicious and needed to be made again soon.

Loaded Cheesy Fries with Ranch Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
  • black pepper, to taste
  • green onions, chopped

Ranch Sauce

  • 1 cup light sour cream
  • 1/2 cup light ranch dressing
  • 1/4 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375º F. Lightly grease a large baking sheet.
  2. Rinse the potatoes and cut into even sized thin fries.
  3. Place fries into a large bowl and add olive oil. Sprinkle garlic powder, ground mustard and paprika over the potatoes.
  4. Toss the potatoes to evenly coat them in the olive oil and seasonings.
  5. Spread the potatoes into an even layer on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, turning the potatoes once during the cooking time.
  7. While the fries are baking cook and crumble the bacon and set aside.
  8. In a small pan melt the butter over medium low heat.
  9. Add in the flour and whisk to combine. Cook the flour for about 1 minute whisking constantly.
  10. Slowly add in the milk, whisking constantly until the mixture has thickened slightly.
  11. Add in the cheese and season with black pepper. Stir until the cheese melts and mixture is smooth.
  12. In a medium bowl stir together the sour cream, ranch dressing and milk, until smooth.
  13. Place fries on a large serving dish and top with cheese sauce.
  14. Place bacon and green onions on top and serve with ranch sauce.
Enjoy!!!
