Tacos in the form of a pie that cuts into wedges. A unique way to enjoy tacos with less mess.
For this pie I used a homemade pie crust, but you could use any pie crust you choose as long as it is a deep dish pie crust.
Taco Pie
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 package taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup water
- 1- 2 1/4 ounce can sliced black olices
- 2 cups crushed corn chips, divided
- 1- 9 inch deep dish pie crust
- 1 cup light sour cream
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375º F.
- In a skillet cook ground turkey over medium heat until completely cooked. Drain if needed.
- Add in taco seasoning, water and olives, stirring to mix. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Sprinkle half of the corn chips into the pie shell. Top with meat mixture, then sour cream and then cheese. Sprinkle remaining corn chips on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Cut into wedges.
Notes:
I use my homemade taco seasoning to help reduce the sodium in the dish.
