Oh my goodness was this ice cream delicious, so delicious. Creamy and full of caramel flavor. If you like caramel then this ice cream is for you.
Since this ice cream was so delicious I felt the need to included two pictures. Enjoy!
Dulce de Leche Ice Cream
Ingredients:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups half and half
- 2- 13.4 ounce cans of dulce de leche, divided
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
- In a medium pot, over medium high heat, heat heavy cream and half and half until just steaming.
- Remove from heat and whisk in 1 2/3 cups dulce de leche until completely smooth.
- Whisk in vanilla. Transfer mixture to bowl and refrigerator until completely cooled.
- Place a freezer safe container for storing the ice cream in the freezer.
- Pour cooled mixture into ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer directions.
- Remove container from freezer and spoon 1/3 of the ice cream into a freezer safe container.
- Using half of the remaining dulce de leche drop small spoonfuls on top of the ice cream.
- Top with another 1/3 of the ice cream followed by small spoonfuls of the remaining dulce de leche. Top with remaining ice cream.
- Using a knife, held vertically, swirl it through the ice cream a few times. Cover the container and put into the freezer until frozen.
