Homemade Pan Pizza

Homemade Pan Pizza: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

My family loves pizza night, it is always a big hit. However this pizza night it was an even bigger hit. My girls loved getting their own pizza, and even better they loved being able to make it themselves. They had a blast stretching the dough and topping it how they wanted.

Homemade Pan Pizza: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

With this recipe there are several options. You can bake the pizzas in 5- 8 inch pans, or 1 large 17x12x1 cookie sheet with sides. If you do not happen to have 5- 8 inch pans you could use 1 or 2- 9 inch pans, you will just have a thinner crust.

Homemade Pan Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for brushing on the crusts
  • 3 1/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Directions:

  1. In a bowl of a stand mixer, mix together the yeast and brown sugar. Pour warm water over top and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. To the yeast mixture, stir in the salt, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, Parmesan cheese and olive oil. Add in 2 1/2 cups of the flour.
  3. Using the dough hook, knead the dough, adding more flour as needed until the dough is not sticky anymore.
  4. Remove the dough from the bowl and spray with cooking spray. Return dough to the bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Let rise for about 1 hour or until double in size.
  5. When dough has risen, punch it down and form into a tight ball and allow to rest for a few minutes.
  6. Divide the dough into 5 equal pieces (if doing 5 separate pizzas) and stretch out a bit, place in a pan gently push the dough to the edges. If using 1 cookie sheet roll dough out to the right size and place in pan. Let dough rise for 15-20 minutes in pans.
  7. Preheat the oven to 425º F.
  8. Top the pizzas your desired way.
  9. Brush a little olive on the edges of the pizzas and bake for 15-20 minutes.
Enjoy!!!
