Taco Pie

Taco Pie: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Tacos in the form of a pie that cuts into wedges. A unique way to enjoy tacos with less mess.

Taco Pie: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

For this pie I used a homemade pie crust, but you could use any pie crust you choose as long as it is a deep dish pie crust.

Taco Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1- 2 1/4 ounce can sliced black olices
  • 2 cups crushed corn chips, divided
  • 1- 9 inch deep dish pie crust
  • 1 cup light sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375º F.
  2. In a skillet cook ground turkey over medium heat until completely cooked. Drain if needed.
  3. Add in taco seasoning, water and olives, stirring to mix. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
  4. Sprinkle half of the corn chips into the pie shell. Top with meat mixture, then sour cream and then cheese. Sprinkle remaining corn chips on top.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Cut into wedges.
Enjoy!!!

Notes:
I use my homemade taco seasoning to help reduce the sodium in the dish.
