Bacon Jalapeño Grilled Cheese Sandwich: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

The grilled cheese sandwich just got better, way better! Add some bacon and jalapeños and you have one very delicious grilled cheese sandwich.

Bacon Jalapeño Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices wheat bread
  • extra sharp cheddar cheese, cut into slices
  • 2 medium-large jalapeño pepper
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Directions:

  1. Thinly slice the jalapeño and remove the seeds if desired.
  2. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add the butter.
  3. When the butter is melted add the jalapeños and sauté for about 10 minutes or until tender and slightly browned.
  4. Remove the jalapeños and cook the bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and drain on paper towel.
  5. Heat up an electric griddle and lay all six slices of bread down and top with cheese slices. Cook until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted.
  6. Top three pieces of bread with jalapeños and bacon and then place other slice of bread on top and press to complete the sandwich.
