Bacon Jalapeño Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Ingredients:
- 6 slices wheat bread
- extra sharp cheddar cheese, cut into slices
- 2 medium-large jalapeño pepper
- 6 slices turkey bacon
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Directions:
- Thinly slice the jalapeño and remove the seeds if desired.
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add the butter.
- When the butter is melted add the jalapeños and sauté for about 10 minutes or until tender and slightly browned.
- Remove the jalapeños and cook the bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and drain on paper towel.
- Heat up an electric griddle and lay all six slices of bread down and top with cheese slices. Cook until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Top three pieces of bread with jalapeños and bacon and then place other slice of bread on top and press to complete the sandwich.
