Cannoli Ice Cream with Dark Chocolate

One of my favorite desserts is a cannoli, so when I saw a recipe for cannoli ice cream I knew I had to make it. This ice cream is creamy and tastes very similar to cannoli filing. An ice cream well worth making.

Cannoli Ice Cream with Dark Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups ricotta
  • 2 ounces dark chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Pour half and half, sugar and vanilla into a blender and blend until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add in the ricotta and blend until the mixture is very smooth.
  3. Put into the refrigerate for 1-2 hours or until the mixture is nice and cold.
  4. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and follow manufacturer's directions.
  5. While the ice cream is churning, roughly chop the chocolate chips.
  6. Add the chocolate about 5 minutes before the ice cream is done.
  7. Scoop ice cream into a freezer safe container with a tight fitting lid and freeze for several hours.
  8. Let ice cream sit for 10 minutes before serving, it freezes very firm.
