Ground Turkey Mongolian Noodles: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

A little sweet, a little spicy and 30 minutes for this easy meal. 

Ground Turkey Mongolian Noodles: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Originally this recipe uses ground beef, but I choose to use ground turkey. You can use your preferred ground meat.

Ground Turkey Mongolian Noodles

Ingredients:

  • 10 ounces spaghetti noodles
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 green onions, sliced

Directions:

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package directions until al dente and drain well.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground turkey breaking it up as it cooks, until completely cooked. Drain any liquid.
  3. Add in the brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, red pepper flakes and ginger. Stir until well combined.
  4. In a small bowl, stir together the cornstarch and water until well mixed. Pour into the skillet and stir until well mixed. Bring the mixture to a low boil, stirring often. Continue to cook and stir until the sauce has thickened.
  5. Add the drained noodles to the skillet, stirring to combine. Allow the noodles and sauce to sit for a few minutes before serving,
  6. Sprinkle green onions over top, if desired.
