Just like with a pizza you can customize these sliders with your favorite pizza toppings, adding as much or as little as you would like.
Pizza Sliders
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 16 sweet Hawaiian rolls
- 1 cup marinara sauce, divided
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded and divided
- 4 ounces sliced pepperoni
- 2/3 cup sliced green olives
- 2/3 cup sliced banana peppers
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350º F. Spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the parmesan cheese, olive oil, vinegar, melted butter, garlic, oregano and red pepper flakes.
- Leaving the roll intact, cut them in half horizontally. Place the bottom half into the prepared baking dish.
- Spread 1/2 cup marinara sauce onto the bottom half of the rolls and sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese, about 1 cup. Add on the pepperoni, olives and banana peppers, followed by the remaining cheese.
- Spread the remaining marinara sauce onto the cut side of the top half of the rolls and place onto of the sandwiches.
- Slowly and evenly pour the oil and butter mixture over the top of the rolls. Let stand for 5 minutes.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 18-20 minutes.
- Remove the foil from the baking dish and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the rolls are golden.
- Allow the rolls to rest for about 5 minutes, then cut into individual sandwiches.
