I wish my family enjoyed french toast more. They like it, but only occasionally, like once every few months. I on the other hand could eat it once or twice a month. I guess will just have to sip on this delicious french toast inspired latte.
Cinnamon French Toast Latte
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon maple extract
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 8 ounces milk
- 8 ounces strong brewed coffee
Directions:
- In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, stir together the water and brown sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil. Stir in the vanilla and maple extract. Return the mixture to a boil and allow to boil for 6 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Pour 1/4 cup of syrup into a mug and coffee, stir to mix.
- In a glass measuring cup, add the milk and microwave for 45 seconds. Using a milk frother, froth the milk and pour over the coffee.
- Allow the remaining syrup to cool and then transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.
