Cheesy spaghetti, with a little kick of heat. You can control the amount of heat in this spaghetti by the amount of jalapeños you add or the spice level of tomatoes you use.
Cheeseburger Spaghetti
Ingredients:
- 1 pound linguine noodles
- 2 pounds ground turkey
- 2-10 ounce can diced tomatoes with chilies
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 4 cups milk
- 16 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2-4 jalapeños, seeded and diced
- black pepper, to taste
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 400º F. Spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Cook the linguine noodles in a large pot of boiling water for 6 minutes. Drain well and return to the pot.
- In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, cook and crumble the ground turkey with the onions. Cook until the meat is completely cooked.
- In a large saucepan, over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute whisking constantly. Slowly pour in the milk, while whisking constantly. Continue to whisk until the mixture has thickened.
- Add in the cheese by the handful, while stirring. Continue to stir until all of the cheese has melted.
- To the pot with the pasta, add in the cooked meat and cheese sauce. Stir until everything is well mixed. Season with black pepper. Transfer the pasta to the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the mixture is hot and bubbly.
Enjoy!!!
Notes:
If you like more of a meaty pasta you can add 3 pounds of ground meat instead of 2.
You can prepare this the night before, cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake the following night. If baking the dish straight from the fridge it will take 30-45 minutes.
