I have been wanting to remake this dish for awhile, but could not find fresh bean sprouts anywhere. So I finally decided to used canned. I used a whole can and drained them well. They did worked in this dish, they just had a bit of different taste and texture versus the fresh ones.
So if you can't find fresh bean sprouts, you can use canned, but I definitely recommend the fresh ones.
