Green Chile Turkey Burgers

Green Chile Burgers: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Turkey burgers are hard to keep from being dry. Thankfully my husband and I have discovered a way to prevent this and that is to cook them in an electric skillet with the lid on. This really helps to keep the moisture in the burgers. Plus ground turkey is not super flavorful on its own so you have to add plenty of flavor. These burgers do not have the problem of being dry and flavorless.

Green Chile Turkey Burgers

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4.5 ounce can chopped green chilies
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns

For Serving:

  • sour cream
  • salsa

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, green chilies, green onions, diced jalapeños, chili powder, cumin and garlic powder. Do not over mix. Divide and shape the mixture into 4 patties.
  2. Cook the patties your preferred way.
  3. During the last few minutes of cooking time top each patty with a piece of cheese and allow to melt.
  4. Toast the buns if desired.
  5. Place the patties on the buns and top with desired toppings.
Enjoy!!!
