Eggnog Doughnuts

Egg Nog Doughnuts: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Baked doughnuts are so easy to make and so delicious! Just like with muffins there are so many different flavor combinations. I have a long list of doughnuts that I eventually want to make, good thing my youngest daughter likes to make doughnuts as well and my whole family likes to eat them.

These egg nog doughnuts have just the right amount of egg nog flavor, just enough to know they are egg nog doughnut without being too overpowering with the egg nog flavor.

Eggnog Doughnuts

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 6 tablespoons eggnog
  • 1 teaspoon rum extract
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons egg nog
  • 1/4 teaspoon rum extract

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325º F. Lightly grease 8 cavities in two doughnut pans.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg nog, rum extract, egg, oil and sugar.
  3. Add in the flour and baking powder, and stir to mix.
  4. Place small scoops of batter around in the 8 cavities of the doughnut pans and gently spread the batter into an even layer, filling the cavities about 2/3 full.
  5. Bake for 10-13 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Remove the doughnuts from the pans and place on a cooling rack.
  7. In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons egg nog and rum extract. Add in last remaining tablespoon of eggnog if the glaze is too thick.
  8. Dip the tops of the warm doughnuts into the glaze and set back on the cooling rack. Dip the tops of the doughnuts again and place on the cooling rack to allow the glaze to set before serving.
Enjoy!!!
