Cream Cheese Pasta

Cream Cheese Pasta: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

This pasta is extremely easy to prepare. It takes about 20 minutes from start to finish. Waiting for the water to boil was probably the longest part of the recipe. Plus as the saying goes "a watched pot never boils" and I was definitely watching the pot.

The pasta is nice and creamy with a very subtle cream cheese taste. The cream cheese makes the pasta creamy more than it adds a ton of flavor.

Cream Cheese Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pound spaghetti noodles
  • 1 cup pasta water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • fresh cracked black pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Remove 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet heat the olive oil over low heat. Add in the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook, stirring often, for 2-3 minutes or until the garlic are fragrant. Watch carefully so the garlic does not burn.
  3. Add in 1/2 cup pasta water and cream cheese, stirring often, until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add in the parmesan cheese and stir until melted and sauce is smooth.
  5. Add the drained pasta to the sauce and stir until the pasta is evenly coated with sauce.
  6. Season with black pepper.
Enjoy!!!
