Cajun Sausage Skillet

Cajun Sausage Skillet: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Potatoes, fresh green beans and carrots are combine with smoked sausage and cajun seasoning for an easy and flavorful one skillet dinner.

I like my green beans to be tender crisp, have a little bite to them, so I only cooked them for 5 minutes. If you like your green beans to be more tender and less crisp, you can add them in with the sausage and let them cook for 10 minutes or until cooked to your liking.

Cajun Sausage Skillet

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 4 red potatoes, cubed into bite sized pieces
  • 2/3 cup sliced carrots, 1/4 inch slices
  • 14 ounces smoked sausage, cut into 1/2 inch slices
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 2 teaspoons cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 pound fresh green beans

Directions:

  1. Add the oil to a large skillet and heat over medium heat.
  2. Add in the potatoes and carrots into a single layer and allow to cook for 15 minutes or until they begin to soften, stirring occasionally and retuning to a single layer.
  3. Push the potatoes and carrots to one side of the skillet and add in the sausage and onions.
  4. Sprinkle the seasonings over top and stir everything together. Allow to cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add in the green beans and stir to combine everything. Allow to cook 5 minutes or until the green beans are cooked to your liking and the onions are softened and sausage is browned.
Enjoy!!!
