These fries did not have the exact taste I was looking for. I was really thinking the fries were going to taste like a pickle, but sadly they did not. However, they did have a really great taste and I would totally make them again just the way they are.
But I am going to try and make another version with more of the dill pickle taste I was looking for in these fries. Hopefully I will be able to get the flavor I am wanting.
Dill French Fries
Ingredients:
- 2 large russet potatoes
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 4 teaspoons dried dill weed
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 450º F. Spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
- Cut the potatoes into matchstick size fries, trying to keep them roughly the same size so they cook evenly.
- Place the fries into a large bowl and coat with olive oil.
- Add in the seasonings and mix until evenly coated.
- Place the fries on the prepared baking sheet so that they are not touching.
- Bake for about 15 minutes or until crispy, flipping the fries halfway through, so both sides get browned and crispy.
Notes:
The original recipe calls for 1/2 teaspoon salt, but I leave all extra salt out of my recipes, due to my husbands high blood pressure. Feel free to add it in if you are not watching your sodium levels carefully.
