I have always preferred baked spaghetti over "regular" spaghetti. I'm not sure what it is, but I think it just tastes better when baked.
This baked spaghetti, in my opinion, is the best baked spaghetti ever. I absolutely loved it. And even if my family did not like it I was still going to keep the recipe and make it again, but thankfully they liked it as well, they may not have loved it quite as much as I did. But they said they would eat it again and enjoyed it.
Baked Spaghetti and Meatballs
Ingredients:
- 1 pound spaghetti noodles
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 yellow onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 pounds frozen meatballs
- 2-24 ounce jars marinara sauce
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded colby jack cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Directions:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add in the onions and cook until softened. Add in the garlic and stir for 1 minute.
- Add in the frozen meatballs and cook and stir for 3 minutes.
- Add in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350º F.
- Cook the pasta according to the package directions, reducing the cooking time by 2 minutes and drain, saving 1/2 cup pasta water.
- With a slotted spoon remove the meatballs from the sauce and set aside.
- Add the cooked drained pasta and pasta water to the sauce. Stir until the noodles are completely coated with sauce.
- Transfer the pasta to 9x13 inch baking dish and place the meatballs on top of the spaghetti.
- Evenly sprinkle all of the cheeses on top.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the pasta is hot and bubbly.
