These meatballs were a huge hit with my husband. He really enjoyed the homemade sauce that was a little sweet and a little spicy. He paired the meatballs with rice and drizzled some sauce over top. This recipe has plenty of sauce with it, plenty to drizzle over servings of rice.
Honey Sriracha Barbecue Meatballs
Ingredients:
Meatballs
- 2 pounds ground turkey
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Honey Sriracha Barbecue Sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 cup ketchup
- 3 tablespoon sriracha
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 375º F. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl combine the ground turkey, panko, eggs, garlic powder and pepper, just until everything is combined.
- Shape the mixture into 1 1/2 inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until completely cooked through.
- While the meatballs bake, in a large bowl whisk together the brown sugar, honey, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, ketchup and black pepper until the sugar is dissolved.
- Refrigerate until needed.
- When the meat balls are done, add them to the sauce and gently toss to coat the meatballs in the sauce.
Notes:
You can substitute cooked frozen meatballs for the homemade if desired.
