My family loves grilled cheese sandwiches and BLT sandwiches, so why not combine the two. My oldest daughter took one bite and said it tasted like a BLT and grilled cheese sandwich. Well, mission accomplished, the sandwich tastes just like it is suppose to.
BLT Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Ingredients:
- 3 slices bacon
- 2 slices bread
- miracle whip or mayonnaise
- 2 slices cheddar cheese
- lettuce
- tomato slices
- Cook the bacon your preferred way.
- While the bacon cooks spread both slices of bread with desired amount of miracle whip or mayonnaise.
- Place on slice of cheese on each piece of bread.
- Top on slice of cheese with bacon slices, lettuce and tomato slices. Place other piece of bread with cheese on top.
- Place sandwich in a preheated skillet or griddle and cook until golden brown, lightly pressing down on the sandwich. Flip the sandwich and cook on the other side until golden brown.
Notes:
My family prefers miracle whip to mayo so that is what I used for these sandwiches.
If you want the sandwich to be cheesier, you could add 2 slices of cheese to each piece of bread. I was trying to keep the calories as low as I could, so I only added 1 slice to each piece of bread.
