Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce

Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

I needed a hot fudge sauce for an ice cream cake (check back tomorrow for that recipe) and decided I wanted to make a homemade one. This recipe is pretty simple and makes a really delicious hot fudge sauce.

Hot Fudge Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder and granulated sugar.
  2. Whisk in the heavy cream.
  3. Turn the heat on to medium and whisk constantly until the mixture starts to warm up.
  4. Add in the butter and stir until completely melted and combined.
  5. Allow the mixture to heat until nice and hot, stirring often.
  6. Once the mixture is nice and hot add in the vanilla and stir to combine.
  7. Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool in the pan for 5 minutes.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a sealable container and store in the refrigerator.
  9. The fudge sauce will become solid as it cools.
  10. To serve the sauce, scoop out the amount you need and place in a microwave safe bowl.
  11. Heat for 20 seconds, stir and then heat for another 10 seconds or until the sauce is warm.
Enjoy!!!
