Nutella and strawberries are a delicious combination. And when they are stuffed inside of French toast, you have a decadent and delicious breakfast. This French toast is perfect for a special occasion or a special treat. It is just so super delicious!
Nutella and Strawberry Stuffed French Toast
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf French Bread
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 tablespoons Nutella
- 12 sliced strawberries
- powdered sugar
Directions:
- In a baking dish, whisk together the eggs, milk and vanilla. Set aside.
- Slice the loaf of bread into 2 inch slices, you need 6- 2 inch slices.
- Using a sharp knife slice a pocket into the bread slices, making sure not to go all the way through.
- Spread each pocket with 1 tablespoon of Nutella and place 1 sliced strawberry in each pocket.
- Place the filled bread slices into the egg mixture for about 1-2 minutes, then flip the slices and let them sit for another 1-2 minutes. Roll the sides in the egg mixture as well.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-low heat.
- Add the bread slices and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Flip the French toast overand cook on the other side until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Top each piece of French toast with a dusting of powdered sugar and 1 sliced strawberry.
