Nutella and Strawberry Stuffed French Toast: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Nutella and strawberries are a delicious combination. And when they are stuffed inside of French toast, you have a decadent and delicious breakfast. This French toast is perfect for a special occasion or a special treat. It is just so super delicious!  

Nutella and Strawberry Stuffed French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf French Bread
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons Nutella
  • 12 sliced strawberries
  • powdered sugar

Directions:

  1. In a baking dish, whisk together the eggs, milk and vanilla. Set aside.
  2. Slice the loaf of bread into 2 inch slices, you need 6- 2 inch slices.
  3. Using a sharp knife slice a pocket into the bread slices, making sure not to go all the way through.
  4. Spread each pocket with 1 tablespoon of Nutella and place 1 sliced strawberry in each pocket.
  5. Place the filled bread slices into the egg mixture for about 1-2 minutes, then flip the slices and let them sit for another 1-2 minutes. Roll the sides in the egg mixture as well.
  6. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-low heat.
  7. Add the bread slices and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Flip the French toast overand cook on the other side until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
  8. Top each piece of French toast with a dusting of powdered sugar and 1 sliced strawberry.
