Italian Giardiniera Burgers

Italian Giardiniera Burgers: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

As of now this is my last idea for ways to use the Giardiniera peppers in my fridge. And oh boy is it a good and spicy one. Not only is the burger topped with Giardiniera peppers, but some are mix in with the burger as well. If you want to cut down on the amount of heat the burger has, do not add a lot of Giardiniera peppers on top. This pepper mix packs quite a spicy punch, a little goes a long way.

Italian Giardiniera Burgers

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/16 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/16 teaspoon black pepper
  • pinch dried thyme
  • small pinch celery seed
  • 1/3 cup Giardiniera peppers, plus more for the top, well drained
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 4 hamburger buns

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, add the ground turkey, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, basil, black pepper, thyme and celery seed.
  2. If the Giardiniera peppers are in large chunks or pieces, roughly chop them into smaller pieces and then add them to the bowl with the meat and spices.
  3. Mix everything together and shape into 4 hamburger patties.
  4. Cook the hamburger patties your preferred way.
  5. Top each hamburger patty with a slice of cheese and let melt.
  6. Place the hamburger patties on the bottom half of a bun and top with a slice of bacon and desired amount of Giardiniera peppers. Place top half of bun on top.
Enjoy!!!
