Nutella Stuffed Churro French Toast


This is one special breakfast! Nutella is sandwiched between two pieces of brioche bread and then turned into French toast that is topped with a cinnamon sugar coating.

Nutella Stuffed Churro French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices brioche bread
  • 8 tablespoons Nutella
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • whipped cream
  • mixed berries

Directions:

  1. Spread two tablespoons Nutella on 4 slices of bread. Top each slice with another piece of bread making a sandwich.
  2. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, half and half and vanilla.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium high heat.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet and allow to melt.
  5. Dip one sandwich into the egg mixture coating both sides and place into the hot skillet with melted butter.
  6. Cook until golden brown about 5-8 minutes, flip over and cook on the other side until golden brown, about 5-8 minutes.
  7. While the French toast is cooking, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
  8. Once the french toast is done, immediately place it in the sugar mixture and coat both sides well.
  9. Repeat this process starting with butter until all four are cooked and coated in cinnamon sugar.
  10. Top each french toast with whipped cream and mixed berries.
