This is one special breakfast! Nutella is sandwiched between two pieces of brioche bread and then turned into French toast that is topped with a cinnamon sugar coating.
Nutella Stuffed Churro French Toast
Ingredients:
- 8 slices brioche bread
- 8 tablespoons Nutella
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup half and half
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- whipped cream
- mixed berries
Directions:
- Spread two tablespoons Nutella on 4 slices of bread. Top each slice with another piece of bread making a sandwich.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, half and half and vanilla.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium high heat.
- Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet and allow to melt.
- Dip one sandwich into the egg mixture coating both sides and place into the hot skillet with melted butter.
- Cook until golden brown about 5-8 minutes, flip over and cook on the other side until golden brown, about 5-8 minutes.
- While the French toast is cooking, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
- Once the french toast is done, immediately place it in the sugar mixture and coat both sides well.
- Repeat this process starting with butter until all four are cooked and coated in cinnamon sugar.
- Top each french toast with whipped cream and mixed berries.
