Sausage and Giardiniera Pizza

Sausage and Giardiniera Pizza: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

This pizza packs quite a spicy punch. Between the spicy sausage and the Giardiniera, this pizza is not lacking in flavor. Even though I thought this pizza was perfect, it did have my nose running, and my mouth was definitely feeling the spiciness. If you do not like things quite as spicy, you can reduce the amount of Giardiniera and use regular Italian sausage instead of spicy.

Sausage and Giardiniera Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 2 spicy sausage links, casings removed, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup chopped Giardiniera

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450º F.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough to desired thickness.
  3. Place dough on a pizza pan or a pizza paddle that has been sprinkled with corn meal.
  4. Spread the pizza sauce on the dough leaving 1/2 inch border of dough for the crust.
  5. Sprinkle both cheeses on top of the pizza sauce and then evenly top with the cooked and crumbled sausage and Giardiniera.
  6. Bake the pizza for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust is turning golden brown.
Enjoy!!!

Notes:
You can add more or less pizza sauce and you can use less Giardiniera depending on your tastes.

You could use regular Italian sausage instead of spicy.
