Basic Pancakes

Basic Pancakes: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Sometimes a Saturday morning breakfast calls for plain and simple pancake. A pancake that you can use any toppings you desire. One that uses ingredients that you typically have on hand and does not call for any special ingredients, like buttermilk.

These pancakes fit that description. They are your basic and simple pancakes. Your basic and simple fluffy and delicious pancakes.

Basic Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Directions:

  1. Preheat a griddle and lightly grease.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder.
  3. Add in the milk, eggs and vanilla. Whisk until just combined.
  4. Pour in the butter and whisk just until the butter is evenly incorporated.
  5. Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the preheated griddle and cook for 3-4 minutes or until bubbles form and start to pop and the pancakes are golden brown on the bottom.
  6. Flip the pancakes over and cook for 3-4 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown.
  7. Continue this process until you have used all of the batter.
  8. Top the pancakes with your desired toppings.
Enjoy!!!

Notes:
Using whole milk will typically create a more fluffy pancake. I used low fat milk, since I do not have whole milk on hand and my pancakes were still fluffy.
