Spicy Brown Sugar Turkey Meatballs: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

These meatballs are a little sweet and a little spicy. Plus they are baked in the oven and then coated with the delicious sweet and spicy sauce.

Spicy Brown Sugar Turkey Meatballs

Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 pounds ground turkey
  • 2 eggs, whisked
  • 3/4 cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • dash dried oregano
  • Glaze
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons white winegar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350º F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
  3. In a large bowl combine the ground turkey, eggs, Italian bread crumbs, red pepper flakes, garlic and oregano.
  4. Roll the meat mixture into about 1 inch size balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 8 minutes, flip the meatballs and bake for 10 more minutes.
  6. While the meatballs are cooking, combine the glaze ingredients in a large saucepan.
  7. Heat the mixture over medium-high heat until it begins to thicken, stirring often.
  8. When the meatballs are done add them to the saucepan with the glaze and gently move them around until they are all coated with glaze.
