These meatballs are a little sweet and a little spicy. Plus they are baked in the oven and then coated with the delicious sweet and spicy sauce.
Spicy Brown Sugar Turkey Meatballs
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 pounds ground turkey
- 2 eggs, whisked
- 3/4 cup Italian bread crumbs
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- dash dried oregano Glaze
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons white winegar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- Preheat oven to 350º F.
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl combine the ground turkey, eggs, Italian bread crumbs, red pepper flakes, garlic and oregano.
- Roll the meat mixture into about 1 inch size balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 8 minutes, flip the meatballs and bake for 10 more minutes.
- While the meatballs are cooking, combine the glaze ingredients in a large saucepan.
- Heat the mixture over medium-high heat until it begins to thicken, stirring often.
- When the meatballs are done add them to the saucepan with the glaze and gently move them around until they are all coated with glaze.
