Jalapeño Popper Baked Turkey Sandwiches

Jalapeño Popper Baked Turkey Sandwiches: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

What a delicious sandwich! It had just the right amount of spiciness. I did leave the seeds in the jalapeño, because I love things spicy, but for a little less spice remove the seeds before dicing.

These sandwiches call for King's Hawaiian Jalapeño Rolls. I had trouble finding them so I would going to King's Hawaiian website to find a store near you that carries them, so you do not have to drive everywhere trying to find them like I did. If there is not a store near you that carries those rolls, you can just use regular Hawaiian rolls and they will still be delicious.

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 pound deli turkey slices
  • 6 slices colby jack cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 large jalapeño, diced
  • 6 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
Cooking Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350º F.
  2. Keeping the rolls attached, cut them in half horizontally. Spread the softened cream on the bottom half of the rolls. Place the rolls in a 9x13 baking dish.
  3. Layer the turkey, cheese slices, bacon and diced jalapeño on top of the cream cheese. Place the top half of the rolls on top.
  4. In a microwave safe bowl melt the butter, then add in the cumin, garlic powder and onion powder, stirring to mix well. Pour the butter over the rolls and then sprinkle with the panko.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes.
Enjoy!!!

Notes:
I used low sodium turkey bacon.

I left the seeds in the jalapeño for more spice, remove them for less spice.
