Cream Cheese and Jam French Toast

Cream Cheese and Jam French Toast: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

French toast is delicious, but this version of french toast is even more delicious. Regular french toast is taken up a notch by being stuffed with cream cheese and your favorite jam flavor.

Cream Cheese and Jam French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf french bread
  • favorite jam flavor
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Cut the french bread into 1 inch slice pieces (I got 12 slices, without using the end pieces.). Cut a slit into the bottom of each slice of bread going almost all the way to the edge and wiggle the knife into the bread slice creating a pocket. Be careful not to put a whole in the bread or the filling will leak out.
  2. Divide the cream cheese between the slices of french bread and careful spread it into the pocket of each bread slice. Then add some jam into each pocket (I used about 1 tablespoon.)
  3. Preheat a griddle.
  4. In a shallow bowl whisk together the eggs and milk.
  5. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture coating both sides, then place on the preheated griddle. Cook until browned, flip each slice over and cook until browned on the other side.
