I have been on a serious hot chocolate kick this winter. I have been enjoying trying so many different flavors of homemade hot chocolate. My girls have gotten used to having a new hot chocolate almost every weekend, they now ask what flavor hot chocolate are we having this weekend.
For this hot chocolate I used dark chocolate chips, but if dark chocolate is not your preferred chocolate you could use semisweet chocolate chips. When I added the cherry juice I wanted to make sure I could taste it, especially since I used dark chocolate. Depending on your taste or chocolate you use you could reduce the cherry juice to 1/3 cup.
