My girls and I love tacos and we love pizza. So why not combine the two together and make taco pizza. This pizza has all of the ingredients we have with our tacos, but you can always change it up to include your favorite taco ingredients.
Taco Pizza
Ingredients:
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1/2 pound ground turkey
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup salsa
- 2 tablespoons taco sauce
- 4 ounces shredded cheddar jack cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1/4 cup sliced pickled jalapeños, optional
- 1/4 cup crushed Doritos
- sour cream, optional
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to the temperature recommended by the dough instructions.
- Cook the ground turkey until completely cooked and crumbled. Drain and fat and then stir in the water and taco seasoning. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes or until no water remains. Set aside.
- Roll the pizza dough out into a 14-15 inch circle. Bake the dough for 3 minutes and then remove from the oven.
- Combine the salsa and taco sauce and spread onto the pizza crust. Place the taco meat on top next followed by the cheese. Bake for 8 more minutes, or until the crust is browned. Remove the pizza from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Top with lettuce, tomatoes, olive, jalapeños and Doritos. Drizzle with sour cream if desired.
