This was a fun pizza to surprise my kids with. They loved it and thought it was really cool to have a pizza in the shape of a snowman. For the snowman's face and buttons you can be as creative as you want. I used what I had on hand and thought would be good on the pizza. So I used pepperoni as buttons and a rolled up pepperoni for the nose and sliced black olives for the eyes and mouth.
Snowman Pizza
Ingredients:
- 3 3/4 cups bread flour
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant dry active yeast
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Alfredo sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- pepperoni
- black olives
Directions:
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, with the dough hook attached, combine the flour, sugar and yeast. Turn the mixer on low and slowly add in the water and oil.
- When the dough starts to come together add in the salt. Continue to mix on low until the dough comes together and forms a ball. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead by hand until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Spray a large bowl with cooking spray and place the dough in it. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and allow to rise until doubled in size, about 45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400º F (after the dough has risen). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
- When the dough is ready place it on a lightly floured surface. Divide the dough into 3 pieces with each piece being bigger than the last.
- Roll the three pieces of dough into a circle of desired size and thickness, making sure it will fit on your baking sheet.
- Place the three dough circles on the prepared baking sheet with the largest circle on the bottom and the smallest on the top. Press the dough circles together where they meet so they stay together while baking.
- Spread desired amount of Alfredo sauce on the dough circles and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Use the pepperoni and olives to make the snowman's face and buttons.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese had just melted and crust is lightly browned. You want to watch the pizza carefully, so that the cheese stays nice and white and does not start to turn brown.
Enjoy!!!
