I had no idea what Cincinnati chili was when I made this dish so I decided to Google it. According to Wikipedia "Cincinnati chili is a regional style of chili con carne characterized by the use of seasonings such as cinnamon, cloves, allspice or chocolate.".
I am not sure that this recipes qualifies as Cincinnati chili according to the above definition, but I will say that this dish is delicious. It is a combination of chili and spaghetti. a delicious combination.
Cincinnati Chili with Pasta
Ingredients:
- 1 pound spaghetti noodles
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 cup yellow onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
- 28 ounces spaghetti sauce with mushrooms
- 16 ounce can low sodium kidney beans
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions:
- Cook spaghetti according to package directions and drain.
- While pasta is cooking brown ground turkey and onion in a large skillet. Drain, if needed.
- Add in chili powder, stirring to combine.
- Add in spaghetti sauce and kidney beans.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Toss with pasta and sprinkle with cheese.
