Cheeseburger Tater Tot Cups

Cheeseburger Tater Tot Cups: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

My family loves tater tots! So any time I come across a recipe involving them it goes on my list of recipes to make. I have made so many different tater tot recipes I was beginning to think I was not going to find any new and different ones to make. But then as luck would have it I found this one involving not only tater tots but dill pickles, another family favorite.

Tater tots are bake in a mini muffin tin and then smashed down to create a cup to hold a ground turkey (or beef if you prefer) mixture and then topped with cheese. Baked again and then topped with a special sauce and a dill pickle slice. Creating the most delicious cheeseburger tater tot cups.

Cheeseburger Tater Tot Cups

Ingredients:

  • 48 frozen tater tots
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickle relish
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Special Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoon dill pickle relish
  • 2 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • For Serving

  • dill pickle slices

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425º F.
  2. In a large skillet brown the ground turkey until completely cooked and crumbled. Add in the mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup and pickle relish. Season with black pepper.
  3. Grease a mini muffin tin with cooking spray. Place 3 tater tots into each cup and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the muffin tin from the oven and use something slightly smaller than a muffin cup to press down the tater tots, forming a cup (I used a shot glass).
  4. Divide the ground turkey mixture evenly between all of the tater tot cups and evenly top with the shredded cheddar cheese. Return the muffin tin to the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove the muffin tin from the oven and allow the cheeseburger tater tot cups to cool in the muffin tin for 5 minutes.
  6. While the tater tots cups are cooling mix together all of the special sauce ingredients until well blended.
  7. Carefully remove the tater tot cups from the muffin tin and top with the special sauce and a dill pickle slice.
Enjoy!!!
