Butterbeer Hot Chocolate

Butterbeer Hot Chocolate: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

I was originally going to rename this hot chocolate, since I am not a fan of Harry Potter. Although, I am not sure saying I am not a fan is the right description, since I have never seen the movies or read the books. But calling this Butterscotch, Caramel, White Chocolate Hot Chocolate, just seemed too long of a name.

No matter what this hot chocolate is called, it is still one of the most delicious hot chocolates I think I have made. It is hard to say for sure since I have made so many homemade hot chocolates, especially this winter. But it is really, really delicious.

Butterbeer Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups half and half
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • whipped cream

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan combine the half and half and milk. Heat the mixture over medium heat for about 2 minutes, do not allow the mixture to come to a boil.
  2. Add in the butterscotch chips, white chocolate chips, caramel sauce and vanilla extract. Stir constantly until all of the chips have melted and mixture is warmed, again do not let the mixture come to a boil.
  3. Top each serving with whipped cream and drizzle with caramel sauce if desired.
Enjoy!!!
