Cookies and Cream Ice Cream

Cookies and Cream Ice Cream: Savory Sweet and Satisfying

I do not buy cookies very often. I prefer to make my own. But for some reason my kids love Oreo's. So when it was time for my oldest birthday she wanted cookies and cream ice cream as part of her birthday dessert. So check back tomorrow and see how I used this creamy ice cream in a birthday dessert.

Cookies and Cream Ice Cream


  • 1 cup half and half
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 20 Oreos


  1. Place a freezer safe container for storing the ice cream in the freezer.
  2. In a large bowl whisk together the half and half and sugar, until the sugar has dissolved. Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the mixture into an ice cream machine and churn according to the manufacturer's directions.
  4. While the ice cream is churning crush the Oreo's into the size pieces you desire.
  5. When there is 5 minutes left of the churn time, add in the crushed Oreo's.
  6. When the ice cream is done churning, remove the container from the freezer and transfer the ice cream into it. Cover and freeze.
