Cheeseburger casserole meets mac and cheese in this delicious dish. A truly delicious and cheesy dish. Plus from start to finish this dish will take approximately 30 minutes.

Cheeseburger Macaroni Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 16 ounces shell pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 ounces whole san marzano tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • pinch red pepper flakes
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups shredded colby jack cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350º F. Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  2. Cook the pasta according to package directions and drain.
  3. In a large skillet heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and cooke breaking apart until completely cooked and crumbled.
  4. Add in the onions and garlic. Continue to cook for 3 minutes or until the onions are tender.
  5. Add in the tomatoes and break them apart while stirring to combine.
  6. Add in the ketchup, ground mustard, dill weed, garlic powder, paprika, red pepper flakes and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Combine the pasta with the meat mixture.
  8. Add in half of the cheese and stir to combine.
  9. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top with the remaining cheese.
  10. Bake for 10 minutes.
