Spicy Smoked Sausage Alfredo Bake

Oh, my, goodness!!! The Spiciness, Alfredo sauce, smoked sausage and pasta creates one super delicious dish. Every once in a while I make a dish that tastes so amazing I can not wait to have it as leftovers and this dish was one of those. I did not mind having this meal more than one day in a row.

Spicy Smoked Sausage Alfredo Bake

  • 1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 14 ounces smoked sausage, cut into 1/4 inch slices
Directions:
  1. Cook the pasta according to the package directions and drain.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter, over medium heat, in a large skillet.
  3. Add the garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes or until the garlic is fragrant.
  4. Stir in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
  5. Slowly pour in the chicken broth, whisking constantly.
  6. Stir in the half and half, black pepper, cayenne and red pepper flakes.
  7. Stir constantly and simmer until the sauce has thickened, about 5 minutes.
  8. Add in the parmesan cheese and 1 cup mozzarella cheese, stirring until they are melted and sauce is smooth.
  9. Add in the sausage and cooked pasta, stirring to combine.
  10. Preheat broiler and lightly spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  11. Transfer pasta mixture into the prepared dish and top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  12. Broil for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Enjoy!!!
