Eggnog French Toast with Eggnog Syrup

Egg Nog French Toast with Egg Nog Syrup:Savory Sweet and Satisfying

Eggnog syrup is a glorious thing. It is the perfect compliment to eggnog french toast. I can not imagine eating this french toast with "plain" syrup.

Eggnog French Toast with Eggnog Syrup

Eggnog French Toast
4 eggs
1 cup eggnog
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
12 slices Texas toast

Eggnog Syrup
6 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup eggnog

Eggnog French Toast
In a large shallow bowl whisk together eggs, eggnog, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Preheat griddle and spray with cooking spray. Place bread into egg mixture and let sit for a few seconds. Flip bread over and allow other side to sit in egg mixture for a few seconds. Place bread on hot griddle and cook until lightly browned. Flip bread and cook on the other side until lightly browned. Serve with eggnog syrup.

Eggnog Syrup
In a medium saucepan, over medium low heat, melt butter. Mix in sugar until well combined. Mix in eggnog and then bring up to medium high heat. Whisk constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat and serve over french toast.
