Jalapeño Popper Cheesy Garlic Bread

Jalapeño Popper Cheesy Garlic Bread: Savory, Sweet and Satisfying

One bite of this bread and I had no interest in the rest of dinner. I believe I served it with some sort of pasta but do not really remember. All I remember is how good this bread was and that I wanted to keep eating more and more of it. It is so delicious and perfectly spicy.

Jalapeño Popper Cheesy Garlic Bread

  • 1 loaf Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 4 ounces reduced fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup light sour cream
  • 1/2 cup pickled jalapeños, divided
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 400º F. Line a baking sheet with a silpat or parchment paper.
  2. Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise and place on prepared baking sheet cut side facing up.
  3. Brush both pieces of bread with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder.
  4. Cover with a piece of aluminum foil and bake for 5 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, set aside 1/4 cup of the jalapeños and chop the rest.
  6. In a medium bowl combine the cream cheese, sour cream and chopped jalapeños.
  7. When the bread is done, spread the jalapeño mixture evenly between the two pieces of bread.
  8. Top each piece of bread evenly with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  9. Place reserved jalapeños on top of the cheese.
  10. Place the bread back in the oven, uncovered, for 2-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  11. Remove from the oven and cool for a few minutes before cutting and serving.
